Vacation Recap: Viva Mexico!

Wow! What an incredible 10 days! Sadly, we had to leave our little slice of heaven in Playa del Carmen, Mexico on Monday and return to reality. Every time that we visit, I am more and more amazed by the beautiful scenery, delicious cuisine and welcoming community. If you have not had a chance to visit Playa del Carmen, I would highly recommend that it be added to your bucket list soon!

Margs, Guac and Tacos. Oh My!

You all know by now how much I love a good margarita, fresh guac and delicious tacos, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that I am in absolute food heaven when I am in Mexico! Between the guacamole, avocado toast and slide avocado on pretty much anything I ordered, it's safe to say that I AM an avocado at this point (that's fine with me!) But, I decided to branch out a little bit on my drinks and discovered some unbelievable new flavors... grapefruit marg anyone?

Flying High

Lauren and I went parasailing, and we have a pretty great story to go along with it too! We knew that we wanted to go parasailing even before we got to Mexico, it was just a matter of actually making it happen. On the day we were signed up to parasail, we made friends with the sweetest newlywed couple who were set up on beach chairs right next to us. They cheered us on the whole time that we were up in the sky! That night at dinner, Lauren and I were so excited when we spotted our new favorite couple that we ran up to say "hello!" Little did we know that our new friends were actually Hunter Pence (from the San Francisco Giants) and his beautiful new wife, Alexis. Sweetest couple!

Soaking It All In

I said this before, but the weather this past week in Mexico was unbelievable!! The water was a beautiful shade of blue, and the sunny 80 degree weather was magical. My favorite part about being on vacation is getting to just relax, read a few great books, and spend time with friends/family. I was so thankful that my friend Lauren could join my family for a few days, and that my grandfather, Joe could be with us as well!
