Celebrating Fall: Apple Picking

It is finally starting to feel like fall which means that it's time to start participating in all of the activities that make this season so special like visiting a pumpkin patch, drinking hot beverages and going apple picking!  This past weekend, I was in North Carolina for my grandmother's 90th birthday party and a huge family reunion (There were 25 of us!!)

When we had a little bit of free time on Sunday, one of my cousins, Emily, and I decided to go to Sky Top Orchard which is a huge apple orchard near our grandparent's house.  We have gone apple picking here for the past few years and it always helps me get into the spirit of fall! I love grabbing a basket and walking through the acres of apple trees collecting as many as I can to take home and eat plain or to bake into an apple pie. My favorite part about visiting Sky Top Orchards though is picking up a dozen of their hot apple cider homemade doughnuts on my way out... yum!

If you're looking for a fun fall activity, dress up in a cozy sweater and head to a nearby apple orchard! But don't delay, apple picking season is almost over...
