My New Year’s Resolutions 2016!
/2016 is here, and I am in shock, partially because I just can’t believe how fast time is passing, but also because this is the year that I will be graduating from Wake Forest!
January was a pretty busy month for me with spending the first week in Mexico, the second week in Vegas for the Consumer Electronic Show, and the third getting settled back in at Wake for my final semester, so I didn’t have a chance to sit down and write down my resolutions for the New Year! I decided that February 1 would be my January 1 in a way. Here are a few resolutions that I came up with.
Utilize my kitchen and cook more meals at home.
This school year, I have been living in a cute little 4 bedroom home off campus with three of my best girlfriends. Since my mom is an interior designer, she helped us make it extra homey and I love spending my downtime here. At the beginning of the year we had all of these visions of cooking meals every night in our kitchen, but it does not happen as much as I would like it to. So, I am committing myself to cooking 4 homemade dinners each week. I typically make breakfast here every morning, so it’s really dinner time that I want to work on. (Check out my “delicious” page for some of my favorite recipes.)
Find my Zen.
Last semester, I really got into hot vinyasa yoga at this new studio near my house. I went about three to four times each week and I saw a huge difference in the way that I felt. I never thought that I would be someone who was invested in the whole yoga lifestyle, but I really love it! With the holidays and finals at the end of the semester, I fell off the wagon a little bit and I really miss the classes. My goal is to go to hot yoga at least three times each week. (Last week I fell on the ice and got a really bad bone bruise on my tailbone, so I may have to wait a few more weeks until I can start up again.)
Blog, Blog, Blog.
2016 is my year because I am finally starting my blog! I have dreamed about this for so many months, and now that I did it, I really want to completely throw myself into the process and see where it takes me. My goal is to post every other day. I am so excited to explore my community and post about my daily experiences as a 22 year old about to enter the real world.
Attempt to tame my sweet tooth.
I don’t know about some of you, but my weakness in life is sweets! I am not trying to completely cut sweets out of my life, but instead try to limit the times that I indulge in desserts to once a week.
Explore a new culture.
Because I am on the golf team at Wake, I was unable to study abroad during the fall semester of my junior year like a lot of my friends did. So, my parent’s promised me that when I graduate, they will help me to travel the world for a month or so during the summer. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am about this! Stay tuned for many posts about the planning and execution of this trip!!
xoxo,
