The Final Countdown to Graduation!
I hope that everyone had a great weekend, and got through the Monday Scaries in one piece. For me, this was the first weekend when it really hit me that I will be graduating. We are officially in the final countdown: 5 days of classes and less than 1 month until graduation! As sad as I am that this chapter is coming to a close, I think that I am at a place where I am ready to move on and see what’s in store for my future. With that being said, I am excited about the next few weeks because we have so many “lasts” and graduation activities coming up!
This weekend really kicked it off in my mind because we had our last sorority formal. I have to say that it was hands down the best date function I think that we have had. I brought one of my best friends Stevie as my date and he and I truly had a magical time. The band was unbelievable and we were on the dance floor the whole night. It is actually the first time that I stayed at a date function until they kicked us out! It was great to be with my entire sorority and just celebrate ourselves.
Sunday brought two more monumental days; the woman’s golf team’s ACC Tournament and the Chi Omega Senior Banquet. My team played in the ACC Tournament at Sedgefield Country Club and ended up coming in 2nd place overall. Two of my teammates also tied for 2nd place as individually! As I was driving home to get ready for senior banquet, it hit me that it was the last time I would see my team play (they still have Regionals coming up but it won’t be held locally). In addition, I was headed to a dinner that celebrates all of the seniors in my sorority, and that I was one of those seniors that the sorority in a way was sending off.
Senior banquet was absolutely beautiful! In addition to a delicious dinner, members of the sorority stood up and said something about each senior girl. Some speeches were funny and others made us all cry, but ultimately it was a tribute to how incredible these girls are and I will miss them all.
All in all, it was a pretty great weekend!
Sadly, I don’t have too many pictures to share from this weekend, but I’m told that it’s a good sign that we really did have the best time!
XOXO,
Rachael Claire
