Sunrises and Beach Days

Location: Rosewood, Mayakoba

February 27, 2017

Outfit Details: Bathingsuit: Marysia Swimwear

I have always wanted to be someone who could wake up before the sun while on vacation and make it to the beach in time to watch the sun come up... but I have never been able to actually do it until this past week!  Boy was I thankful to have one of my closest friends there with me to experience one of the most beautiful sunrises that I have seen. Our house is about a 10 minute leisurely bike ride from the beach and as we rode, Erin and I saw the bright red and orange colors across the sky and peddled even faster to get there in time!

I have to say that the early morning is one of my favorite times of the day. I love the quiet peacefulness of the world when everyone in it is just waking up. It was so relaxing to just sit on the beach and watch the day begin. I tried to take some photos that would capture just how magical the moment was, but now looking back through the images, they really just don't do the beauty of this sunrise justice.

The sunrise gave way to the most perfect day on the beach... Bright sun and a light breeze! Whenever I am at the beach, I try to read as much as possible. When I am at home, I sometimes find it difficult to really dive into a good book because of the hustle and bustle of the day. For this trip, I read the book "The Circle" by Dave Eggers. Holy moly, what an insane book?! It is one of those books that really makes you think about the world we are living in and the horrors of where we could be headed with our technology driven lifestyles. Highly recommend it!

I am such a big fan of this new bathing suit by Marysia Swimwear! I like that its a little bit more on the conservative side, but still so so cute. I got so many complements on it while walking along the beach, so I wanted to share it with you all. It is a little bit on the pricy side but the quality is so great that I know it will be with me for several beach trips to come!

One of the fun things that the Rosewood does everyday at 12:00 is that they run around to everyone on the beach and give them some sort of festive drink! These drinks can range anywhere from champagne to watermelon basil margaritas or even pina coladas inside of a pineapple! This time, it happened to be fresh coconut water with a splash of rum :) Yum!

XOXO,
